Mandy, her two little daughters and their grandmother set off for the countryside in the family car they call Sylvia, singing along, playing road-trip games and stopping for ice cream. But beneath the warmth of the outing, Mandy grows quietly troubled as she prepares to part with the car, and the reason behind the trip slowly comes into focus.

Why we picked it

Richard Prendergast's beautifully made English drama: a family road trip in a beloved car called Sylvia, with games, songs and ice cream, and a goodbye waiting at the end of the road.

Bereavement, family loss and emotional distress. Source-based review; not rated for children.
