Over old photobooks and home movies from the 1930s, the filmmaker talks with her 92-year-old grandmother about growing up in Japan during the war and moving to the United States in the 1950s, when hostility toward Japanese people ran high. A wedding kimono links three generations as the film explores identity, belonging and what it means to be Japanese-American.
