Harun, a second-generation British-Afghan man raised in London, has had no luck with Western-style dating, so he turns to his family's tradition of arranged matches. His prospective partner, Samira, is a recent refugee for whom their meeting at a stylish sushi restaurant is her very first date. Their different expectations collide awkwardly, yet the tension opens a tentative space for connection and hope.

Why we picked it

An arranged date is a meeting of expectations as much as people. Try this if you enjoy stories about belonging, family and finding a connection.
